One of France’s most prized small castles, Chateau Rochepot has a history dating back to 1128 A.D. Destroyed by fire in the 13th century and rebuilt over a period of 25 years. A 72 meter-deep well was hand dug through solid rock to supply the castle with water over the centuries. Click here for more history.
Stunning architecture and craftsmanship in a remarkably cozy setting. We could easily live there. Definitely worth a trip to see, and more interesting than many other Chateau (castle) tours because of its smaller scale and interesting layout as a home for a family and servants more than a fortress for hundreds.
